MeterTaxi ("we", "our", or "the app") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the MeterTaxi application available on the Google Play Store.
2. App Overview
MeterTaxi is a utility app that helps users estimate taxi fares by using the phone's GPS to calculate distance, low-speed or stopped time, and estimated fare based on announcements from the Department of Land Transport.
No account registration or login is required.
3. Information We Collect
Location Information (GPS)
- Real-time route tracking
- Distance measurement
- Low-speed or stopped time measurement
- Taxi fare estimation
Important:
- All GPS data is processed locally on your device
- No location or route data is sent to any server
- GPS tracks and fare details are never uploaded
App Usage Analytics (Firebase Analytics)
MeterTaxi uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used. The following anonymized usage events are collected:
- Ride started, ended, or restarted events
- Rides deleted, exported, or imported events
- Tab navigation events
This data does not include GPS coordinates, routes, fare amounts, or any personally identifiable information. Firebase Analytics also automatically collects standard device and app information such as device model, OS version, app version, and country. This data is processed by Google on their servers and governed by Google's Privacy Policy:

MeterTaxi does not collect any personally identifiable information, such as name, email address, phone number, or account credentials.
4. Data Storage & Processing
- All fare calculations are performed locally on your phone
- GPS tracks, routes, and fare data are stored only on your device and never uploaded
- Anonymized app usage analytics are sent to and stored on Google Firebase servers (see Section 3)
- The app contacts Firebase Remote Config (a Google service) to fetch app configuration such as ad display frequency
5. Advertising
MeterTaxi displays interstitial advertisements provided by Google AdMob.
Google AdMob may collect device information such as advertising IDs to serve and measure ads. These practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy:

7. Children's Privacy
MeterTaxi is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Accuracy Disclaimer
MeterTaxi is a fare estimation tool only and cannot replace an official taxi meter. GPS inaccuracies or delays may result in differences between estimated and actual fares.
